چکیده

Abstract As a key component of the Chinese Fusion Engineering and Test Reactor (CFETR), blanket is responsible for tritium breeding, neutron shielding energy conversion. Blankets can be classified into solid liquidaccording to form breeder. Among them, utilizes pebble beds as both breeder multiplier, it has been popular scheme due its advantages, such good material compatibility non-magnetohydrodynamic effects. However, usually adopts beryllium or an alloy (i.e. Be 12 Ti) multiplying neutrons, causing very high cost scarcity natural resources beryllium, this hinders development. In paper, novel utilizing PbLi eutectic was proposed make up above deficiency. Pb 83 Li 17 applied in liquid lowmelting point. kind have higher melting point by adjusting atomic ratio Pb/Li, thus used multiplier. Based on modular design CFETR, optimization radial layouts, Pb/Li packed structure are studied through neutronic thermal hydraulic analysis. The results indicate that solid-type x y satisfy requirement self-sufficiency, global breeding larger than 1.0. addition, cooling system retain maximum temperature at lower level without melting. Overall, feasible from perspective hydraulics, avoids using beryllium; thus, highly reduced.

Integration of the Modular Dual Coolant Pb-17li Blanket Concept in the Aries-cs Power Plant

A modular DCLL blanket is selected as the reference concept in the ARIES-CS power plant study. This concept is characterized by the following features: 1. Eutectic lead lithium alloy Pb-17Li serving as breeder and coolant (“self-cooled breeding zone”); 2. Helium-cooled FW and blanket structure made of the MF82H Reduced Activation Ferritic Steel (RAFS); 3. Flow channel inserts (FCI) made of SiCc...

UWFDM-1225 Impact of CaO Coating on Breeding Potential of ARIES-RS Li/V Blanket System

A number of studies have proposed several electrically insulating coatings for the vanadium structure to mitigate the magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) pumping power losses for the self-cooled lithium blanket system. The most practical scenario for power plant designs is to add the coating material to the liquid lithium breeder to help the in-situ self-healing process of the microcracking developed du...

Preparation of Soft Magnetic Fe-Ni-Pb-B Alloy Nanoparticles by Room Temperature Solid-Solid Reaction

The Fe-Ni-Pb-B alloy nanoparticles was prepared by a solid-solid chemical reaction of ferric trichloride, nickel chloride, lead acetate, and potassium borohydride powders at room temperature. The research results of the ICP and thermal analysis indicate that the resultants are composed of iron, nickel, lead, boron, and PVP, and the component of the alloy is connected with the mole ratio of pota...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Breeding blanket concepts for fusion and materials requirements

This paper summarizes the design and performances of recent breeding blanket concepts and identifies the key material issues associated with them. An assessment of different classes of concepts is carried out by balancing out the potential performance of the concepts with the risk associated with the required material development. Finally, an example strategy for blanket development is discusse...
